Knowing Better Now
The Past in Light of the Present
From the Daily Om
When we look back at the past, knowing what we know now, we often find it difficult to understand how we made the mistakes we made. This is because once we learn new information, it is nearly impossible to reenter the headspace we were in before we learned that information. And so we look back at parents who spanked their kids, for example, and wonder how they could have thought that was a good idea. Similarly, our personal pasts are full of mistakes we can’t believe we made. We did things then that we would never do now, and this is precisely because we have information now that we didn’t have, or weren’t able to access, then.
From ideas about how to raise children to how to treat the environment, our collective human past sometimes reads like a document on what not to do. In many ways, this is exactly as it should be. We learn from living and having experiences. It is from these past actions that we garnered the information that guides us to live differently now. Just so, in our personal lives, we probably had to have a few unsuccessful relationships or jobs, learning about our negative tendencies through them, in order to gain the wisdom we have now.
In order to live more peacefully with the past, it helps to remember that once we know better, we tend to do better. Prior to knowing, we generally do our best, and while it’s true that from the perspective of the present, our best doesn’t always seem good enough, we can at least give our past selves the benefit of the doubt. We did our best with what knowledge we had. Beyond this, we serve the greater good most effectively by not dwelling on the past, instead reigning our energy and knowledge into our present actions. It is here, in this moment, that we create our reality and ourselves anew, with our current knowledge and information.
I like custom jewelry by S because I get to choose to make the bracelet of my choice. It is double star bracelet which you can see on this picture. It is beautiful, you can check the blog to see more.
It is not expensive as I find other blogger making them so expensive. I like this bracelet, tell me what you think of it.
Happy New Year, how was your weekend?
I found this blog recently it is all about soap. I am thinking to try them out when I have got more money. I am feeling lost right now as I lost my job.
Anyway I hope to start again with another job it is going to take time to do what I like. I need to go out soon as need to find a Christmas present.
The UN Climate Change conference is underway from Dec 7th-18th, and leaders from all over the globe have come to be a part of this historic gathering. One particular headline from Denmark caught my attention:
Greenpeace is trying to push President Obama to sign a climate treaty which includes the following:
-Emissions cuts of 40% by 2020 by industrialized countries (at 1990 levels)
-$140 billion a year from the industrialized world for developing countries to deal with climate impacts, act on climate change and stop deforestation
-An end of tropical deforestation by 2020.
-Developing countries must reduce their projected emissions growth by 15-30% by 2020, with support from industrialized countries
I am hopeful the countries who have gathered will support this treaty ~ I do believe we are at a crossroads with the environment and ignoring the problem is not the answer.
This op-ed by Kofi Annan eloquently makes a plea for change by global collaboration. Excerpt from Saving Ourselves From...Ourselves
"A deal that stops at rhetoric and does not actually meet the needs of the poorest and most climate vulnerable countries simply will not work. The climate cannot be 'fixed' in one continent and not another. Climate change does not respect national borders. We are all in the same boat; a hole at one end will sink us all."

My friends are having trouble to track on their register post as they send out on last Wednesday morning. Until today they not able to check the tracking online as says not exist at all. It is sad to see some people only able to check them after they got their parcels.
Let me know if you have come across this before that you not able to track your items. Personally I give a try and check for my friend and it is true that I not able to find the code as says not exist. She emails to the post office and need to wait at least 48 hours to get their reply.
Is there attire or rules that what you need to wear on the funeral day? I think not all the funeral the same. Some people need to wear in black and some in white. I am quite blurr of this, lately I have got bad news from family members that grandpa passed away.
Now I am not sure what I need to wear from top to toes. I am asking my dad for more info but he is not giving me much. I am just worry of the funeral day that my uncles will be mad at me if I wear anything wrong. Yeah the nail polish on my toes and hands must be removed too!
About shoes, need to wear sandals or shoes with sock? Anyone know anything about funeral day?
